Choisya ternata 'Sundance' (Golden Mexican Mock Orange)

Choisya ternata 'Sundance' (Golden Mexican Mock Orange)

A compact, rounded evergreen shrub with bright yellow to light green young foliage; clusters of small, white, fragrant flowers appear in spring and sometimes again in summer; good for hedging as well

Sundance Mexican Mock Orange is a multi-stemmed evergreen shrub with a more or less rounded form. Its average texture blends into the landscape, but can be balanced by one or two finer or coarser trees or shrubs for an effective composition.

This is a relatively low maintenance shrub, and should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season's flowers. It has no significant negative characteristics.

Sundance Mexican Mock Orange is smothered in stunning cymes of fragrant white star-shaped flowers at the ends of the branches in mid spring. It has attractive light green evergreen  foliage which emerges yellow in spring. The glossy oval leaves are highly ornamental and remain light green throughout the winter.

Sundance Mexican Mock Orange will grow to be about 6 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 5 feet. It tends to fill out right to the ground and therefore doesn't necessarily require facer plants in front, and is suitable for planting under power lines. It grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for 40 years or more.
